Welcome to my blog

As a writer, my first area of interest is obviously my books, but for my blog I will try to address different writing issues or provide my own tips when it comes to writing or self-publishing.

My blog also includes shout-outs to and recommendations for other blogs or websites, book reviews or recommendation, and a few posts sparked by nothing but an area of interest at the moment or occasionally a complaint or five.

Top Ten Tuesday-10 Authors I Own the Most Books [By]

I'm going to join the Top Ten Tuesday (TTT) trend. Every Tuesday, there will be a new Top Ten list, the topic courtesy of The Broke and the Bookish.

Today's Topic is: 10 Authors I Own the Most Books From

  1. Nora Roberts
  2. J.D. Robb
  3. Robert Jordan
  4. J.K. Rowling
  5. Raymond E. Feist
  6. Jack Campbell
  7. C.S. Lewis
  8. Suzanne Brockman
  9. Terry Goodkind
  10. Julie Garwood

After writing this, I find that I am quite disturbed that I have so many romance novels and so few fantasy novels...although this is breaking it down by author, not genre, so I'll give myself a pass until and unless I decide to count by genre.

Have a blog and want to post your own list? Visit The Broke and the Bookish to find out more.

We have CS Lewis in common. I rarely buy books for myself so this was a fund activity to walk around the house counting books by various authors.

It was very interesting. I consider myself a huge fantasy fan but it looks like I don't actually read that many fantasy novels. At least not lately. When I was younger it was about all I read.

J.K Rowling made my list this week too. The Harry Potter series is one I often re-read! Great list!

Oh yeah if this list was based on re-reads rather than author my list would be quite different

Just wondering: if you counted Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb as one entry on the list, who would Author #10 be?

I've only read Roberts's books as Robb and they weren't my cup of tea. That makes me hesitant to try her "own" stuff. Would you say that someone who doesn't care for Robb's style/voice would still like Roberts?

It's hard to tell about the 10th since my books are mixed in with other people's so I tried to count only the ones I've read and not the ones on the shelf. Probably R. A. Salvatore.

Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb definitely have distinctive styles. When she writes as Robb the plot typically circles around the case rather than the romance, and I think reviewers would probably call it "gritty" or "edgy." As Roberts it is definitely a softer and more romantic read typical of romance and something you might find in some of Elizabeth Lowell's or Julie Garwood's books. The women are more feminine, the men less dangerous, and secondary characters stay in their secondary roles. I like them both but if I'm in the mood for one I can't really substitute it with the other.
