Want to know more about J.R. McGinnity? Well, you're in luck because I'm here to tell you!
I am an author and an English teacher. I am also a blogger, so go ahead and check out my writing blog.
I live in the Midwest and occasionally go off on rants about the cold, flat tires, or the other trials and tribulations of life. While the stories and novels I write aren't chatty, I believe that blogs should be a way to get to know the author, not just the bio given to the world (and by world, I mean the people who visit this site and my Twitter followers). If you want to read a blog written by an author who constantly maintains a professional distance, you might want to look somewhere else. The links on my site might be a place to start, but otherwise typing "author blogs" into the Google search engine will probably yield some good results. I write almost exclusively in the fantasy genre, sometimes high fantasy, sometimes a story considered to be fantasy only because it takes place in another world. So maybe I just write under the broad umbrella of "speculative fiction." Like most fantasy writers, I look at J.R.R. Tolkien, Raymond E. Feist, and other fantasy greats for inspiration. I also read classic literature (it's the English teacher in me) and have the guilty pleasure of reading romance novels. Thank you, Nora Roberts, and your "darker side," J.D. Robb, for contributing to that little piece of delinquency. I'm sure there is more to say, and if you've stuck with me this long, kudos. But for now I'll let you go search my site (or go back to Google, where you can find other, more respectable ways to spend your time--like looking at pictures of monkeys holding kittens. No,really, go Google monkeys holding kittens. You'll thank me later. And if you made it this far, please follow me on Twitter @JRMcGinnity or check out Wattpad, because I have a short story there as well as a continuously updated serialized novel which can also be read here. |
Been there, climbed that. Erawan Falls National Park.
